DIRECTORS STATEMENT

The itch to make Angela came after being inspired by the wider works of Pedro Almodóvar. My creative partner Joe and I have long since fallen head over heels in love with his work — the mixture of colourful female characters and a lived-in world filled with as much mystery as zany playfulness. This film is as much a love letter to his work as it is an exploration of the complicated nature of mother–daughter relationships.
